CITIPAC is a political action committee established in 2003 by the League of California Cities to support ballot measure and other advocacy activities by the League.

The passage of Prop 1A and, more recently, the defeat of Proposition 90, have taught us here at the League how critical it is to continue to expand our advocacy efforts into the ballot measure arena.

A strong and well-funded political action committee is essential in California state politics to head off state legislation or initiative efforts that would cut funds for local programs, weaken local decision making or transfer state responsibilities to local communities without adequate funding or resources.

The League is continuing its fundraising activities because it must have resources available to fulfill its mission: “To restore and protect local control for cities through education and advocacy to enhance the quality of life for all Californians.”
